YOUR IMPACT
As Legal Counsel, Claims you will :
- Manage cargo and vessel related incidentswith a view to mitigate losses and save costs.
- Provide legal assistance (by seekingsupport form Lawyer) and advice to our agency network when the case requires.
- Supervise the work of the agencies’claims departments.
- Appoint suitable experts and lawyers.
- Liaise with our insurers.
- Investigate incidents to assessliabilities and extent of damage.
- Negotiate claim settlements withcustomers, terminals, vessel owners etc.
- Report to the management and offersolutions to re-occurring issues (loss prevention).
- Initiate and follow up recovery of sumsof money from liable third parties.
- Handle vessel related incidents.
- Generally, assist the manager in respectof various tasks / comply with varioustasks assigned by manager.
- Create a line of communication with otherDepartment at MSC HQ, mostly Gva logistic, Gva operation, Gva liner.
- Providing statistic into excel / powerpoint format to Dept. Manager based on the data received by MSC Agents.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Legal / marine insurance background.
- Knowledge of shipping business.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Sense of responsibility.
- Self-motivation.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Language Skills very good knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft application (specifically excel).
CONTRACT DETAILS
- Based in Geneva.
- Full Time.
- Starting ASAP.
- Eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizen, or existing Swiss work permit).
