DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Team Lead, Partnerships, the incumbent will :
- Provide leadership and vision for Unitaid's work on CCSE which entails extensive collaboration across the Secretariat, and the provision of leadership to evolve guidance and ensure successful implementation of the CCSE strategy implementation plan.
- Collaborate across the Secretariat and with external partners to improve opportunities for, and quality of, meaningful and sustainable engagement and leadership of communities and civil society in Unitaid's investment processes from inception through grant negotiation, implementation and during evaluation and reporting of results.
- Provides advice on CCSE to support grant investment scoping, calls for proposals, and grant development to ensure scaled-up, impactful investments.
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with community and civil society stakeholders and those living with and / or most impacted by Unitaid's focus areas.
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships between Unitaid and multilateral partners, bilateral partners, civil society, and community partners for CCSE.
- Liaise with diverse partners to ensure strong and impactful support to reinforce capacities of affected community networks to engage more effectively in Unitaid processes in countries and globally.
- Coordinate expert advice from civil society and community organizations, including networks.
- Act as liaison for the Communities and NGO delegations to the Unitaid Executive Board with regular dialogue.
- Provide regular updates on CCSE to Directors, management and staff as relevant.
- Coordinate and facilitate CCSE across the Unitaid Secretariat in close liaison with the ERC team
- Prepare briefs for management on CCSE and related partnerships.
- Design and develop tools and materials for CCSE and manage related consultations.
- Represent Unitaid in various fora, and ensures liaison with communities, civil society, and other partners as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential :
Advanced university degree in public health, development studies or related field.
Desirable :
Training in project management and / or negotiation.
Experience
Essential :
- At least 7 years of experience working with Global Health partnerships and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders such as governments, NGOs, civil society, communities, donor agencies, multilateral agencies and the United Nations;
- Extensive experience at international level in community and civil society engagement including with partners based in low and middle income countries.
Desirable :
- Experience working with international development organizations or global health institutions
- Understanding of infectious diseases control
- Experience working on advocacy and social mobilization
- Knowledge of Unitaid's work, processes, and governance structure
