MSC is looking for an experienced Shipping Revenue Analyst to join its Finance organization and support revenue analysis, financial performance monitoring, and business decision-making across its international shipping operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in analyzing revenue performance, identifying business trends, and providing actionable insights to support commercial and financial objectives.

Working closely with Finance, Commercial Teams, Trade Analysts, and other key stakeholders, the Shipping Revenue Analyst will ensure accurate revenue monitoring, promote financial transparency, and contribute to the continuous improvement of revenue-related processes.

This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in the shipping industry, solid knowledge of maritime business dynamics, and the ability to combine analytical expertise with commercial awareness and effective stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze revenue performance across shipping operations, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for business improvement.
• Prepare and deliver accurate revenue reports, financial analyses, and performance insights to support commercial and financial decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with Commercial Teams, Finance departments, Trade Analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between revenue performance and business objectives.
• Analyze key revenue drivers, including cargo volumes, freight rates, trade performance, and market dynamics, to assess their impact on business results.
• Support revenue forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities, providing reliable data and insights to relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical models to improve revenue visibility, data accuracy, and performance monitoring.
• Identify revenue discrepancies, potential risks, and areas for optimization, proactively supporting corrective actions and process improvements.
• Act as a key point of contact for revenue-related matters, fostering effective communication, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Solid professional experience in Revenue Analysis, Financial Analysis, Commercial Finance, or similar analytical roles, preferably within international shipping organizations.
• Strong background in the shipping and maritime transportation industry, with a solid understanding of liner shipping operations and commercial dynamics.
• Proven knowledge of the shipping business, including freight rates, cargo volumes, trade lanes, revenue drivers, and market dynamics.
• Experience in revenue monitoring, financial reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance management.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage complex datasets and develop accurate financial reports; knowledge of Power BI or other business intelligence tools is considered an advantage.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Commercial, and operational teams.
• Strong business acumen, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to translate financial and commercial data into actionable insights.
• Excellent written and spoken English, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, international, and multicultural environment.

In compliance with applicable pay transparency legislation, we provide the following information regarding the initial remuneration envisaged for this position.

The position will be classified within the Employee category, at one of the C2, C3, B1 or B2 levels under the Italian Metalworking Industry National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria).

The classification level and any additional remuneration components supplementing the base salary will be determined based on an assessment, carried out during the selection process, of objective and neutral criteria such as, by way of example, the candidate’s professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy and the responsibilities required by the role.
