ROLE DESCRIPTION
- The Human Resources Manager is ultimately responsible for all HR-related activities in a clearly defined set of vessels (operation). Moreover, the Human Resources Manager is an HR partner to the Senior Officers onboard all ships within the Operation Area, and acts as an adviser in HR-related matters and in support of Viking’s Employee Performance Review processes.
- The HR Manager reports to the Director Human Resources. This role is based in our Operational Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or in possession of a valid work permit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage HR Administration and wellbeing of crew in an effective & compliant mannerMaintain employee recordsPrepare contract documents for employees and support with visa application processGather all HR-needs of responsible area and initiate necessary actions in agreement with Corporate Operations Manager (COM)Ensure and control that needed number & quality of crew for assigned operation is provided in time by recruitingMaintain close business relations with the responsible core teamMaintain business contacts with recruiting & payroll departmentAct as employee relations agent for assigned area to ensure complianceControl staff satisfaction and initiate action to improve in coordination with COMSupport responsible COM with deployment of management positionsSupport the onboard Senior Officer with the HR Administration and vacation planningSupport the trainings department in the organization of the season start trainingConduct ship visits to foster relations with the core team and the onboard management as well as manage crew performance reviewsKEY QUALIFICATIONS
