Business Analyst
Support EMEA Head of Analytics & Business Insights (ABI) in improving the efficiency of the existing processes related to Renewal monitoring, UW Plan, Performance Review and technical steering of the P&C portfolio.
Working together with the global ABI teams to improve existing analytics, develop new tools and dashboards provided to various stakeholders incl.
UW community, Head of regions, Finance and Reinsurance management.
Take care of the renewals and plan processes for EMEAUW teams, including the collection of data, inputs in the tools, and production of reports, analysis and presentations. This includes :
Underwriting Plan
- Support Underwriting Plan process
- Enhance analytics related to UW Plan
Portfolio Analysis and Reporting
- Monitor business performance : analyze and identify areas to improve company result.
- Development / maintenance of the key performance indicators and update of the break-even UWR.
- Maintenance of the data and tools used for the quarterly performance monitoring.
- Preparation of the Reinsurance performance review presentations based on the developed analytics.
Renewals
- Active support in the Renewal monitoring and reporting process in EMEA; working together with Underwriting, Pricing and Catastrophe modelling teams.
- Maintenance of the existing tools and analytics.
- Communication with UW community to ensure that most updated figures are presented during renewal monitoring.
Process and tools enhancement
- Improve data accuracy and process efficiency, automating wherever possible and investigating technical solutions
- Work on IT tool development to support underwriting teams
Experience :
- 3-5 years of experience in the (re)insurance sector, in a technical function (actuarial, modelling or underwriting support)
- Knowledge of the (re) insurance market in Europe.
- Understanding of the reinsurance rating environment form technical and business point of view is a plus.
- Ability to understand strategic business goals and make recommendations to business leaderships and Underwriters that align with requirements and company objectives.
- Skilled in applying business analysis methodologies in various situations.
Personal Competencies :
- Excellent IT skills including programming (e.g. SQL, Python or R).
- Prior experience with Tableau or Power BI preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel including Power Queries.
- Good organizational and very good communication skills in English.
- Ability to work on several projects and tasks, hence the necessity to prioritize.
- Analytical, Rigorous, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Pro-activewith can-do attitude.
- Curiosity and interest to work on topics outside of her / his core area of competencies, within multinational environment.
Required Education
- We are looking for a highly skilled technical person with quantitative background (e.g., Master of Science in Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science etc.)
- Data scientist or actuarial background are main qualifications. qualified actuary is a plus.
- Further insurance or financial-related studies preferred.
