Procurement Manager Indirect Goods & Logistics
We are currently seeking a seasoned Procurement Manager specializing in indirect goods and logistics to join our team at our Lucerne, Switzerland office.
The Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement process for indirect goods and logistics services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability of supply chains while adhering to company standards and goals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement procurement category and sourcing strategies for indirect goods and logistics services, aligning with organizational objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers for indirect goods and logistics services, negotiating contracts, and establishing favorable terms and conditions.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations, contract negotiations, and issue resolution to ensure continuous improvement and value optimization.
- Oversee the procurement of indirect goods such as MRO, secondary packaging, pallets and logistics, ensuring timely availability and cost efficiency.
- Optimize logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to minimize costs, improve efficiency, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and logistics, to understand their procurement needs and provide strategic guidance and support.
- Monitor market trends, analyze supplier performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvement, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards in procurement activities, including environmental and social responsibility considerations.
- Utilize data analytics tools and procurement software to track key performance metrics, generate reports, and inform decision-making.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing procurement processes, driving innovation, and achieving organizational goals.
- Adhere to standardized ways of working and all procurement policies.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect goods and logistics.
- Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes and supplier relationships in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to drive favorable outcomes and build mutually beneficial partnerships with suppliers.
- Solid understanding of logistics operations, including transportation modes, warehousing, and inventory management principles.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) or related field is a plus.
- Ability to travel internationally 25% of the time.
