Data Intern
We are currently looking for a Data Intern to join our global programme team in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Data Intern will be part of the IMPACT Global Programmes department, working within the Public Services, Markets and Infrastructure unit.
They will be under the supervision of the Shelter Assessment Specialist and will be primarily working on the analysis of existing shelter data collected through various IMPACT research cycles.
The selected candidate, jointly with the Shelter Assessment Specialist, will develop upon the start of the internship a specific set of objectives and a work plan, which will be reviewed at regular intervals during the internship period and will serve as a basis for evaluation upon completion of the internship.
Intership Objectives
- Develop familiarity with shelter interventions and key information needs in the sector for sound and effective measurement of needs, programming and targeting.
- Gain exposure to the humanitarian cluster system, especially in the shelter sector.
- Develop familiarity with key terms and measurements in the humanitarian and international development sector.
- Gain practical experience in the international humanitarian coordination system, and develop in-depth understanding of today’s major humanitarian crises, their main drivers and consequences, and resulting humanitarian needs.
- Gain experience in quantitative data processing and analysis tools and best practices in the humanitarian sector.
- Develop the groundwork for future sectoral analyses and better data interoperability.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
For this position, gross salary is 1’450 CHF monthly (before income tax). NB IMPACT salaries are strictly determined by our salary grid depending on the grade of the position and the level of education and experience of staff.
A contribution to medical insurance of 450 CHF per month is already included in the salary figure.
