Position Overview :
The Senior Director of Business Development will be a key driver in expanding the client's market presence, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth within the biologics sector.
This role requires a candidate with extensive experience in business development within a CDMO environment, with a specific focus on biologics.
Expertise in mammalian cell culture is a major plus, as the client is focused on delivering comprehensive solutions for therapeutic proteins and antibodies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial acumen, a deep understanding of the biotech landscape, and proven success in navigating complex deal structures within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Growth : Lead business development initiatives to expand the client's biologics pipeline and portfolio, focusing on new partnerships, collaborations, and client acquisition.
- Client Engagement : Build and nurture relationships with biotech and pharmaceutical companies, identifying and securing new opportunities in biologics development and manufacturing.
- Market Expansion : Analyze market trends and industry shifts to strategically position the client's services in the global CDMO market, focusing on biologics and mammalian expertise.
- Deal Structuring : Lead negotiations, pricing, and contract development for key deals and partnerships, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements aligned with the company's long-term growth strategy.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams such as R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs to ensure alignment on business goals and customer expectations.
- Leadership : Mentor and lead a high-performing business development team, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration within the organization.
Required Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum of 10 years of business development experience within the CDMO or biotechnology sector, with a strong emphasis on biologics.
Experience in mammalian cell culture and biologics manufacturing is a major advantage.
- Industry Knowledge : In-depth understanding of the biologics drug development process, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.
- Proven Success : Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, client acquisition, and successful deal negotiation within a CDMO environment.
- Network : Strong network of contacts within the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
- Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, as well as collaborate cross-functionally across global teams.
- Education : Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related fields is strongly preferred. An MBA or equivalent business qualification is advantageous.
- Language Skills : Fluent in English; additional languages (such as German or French) are a plus.
