Clinical Research Scientist/Coordinator (m/f/d)

Location: Basel, Switzerland
Duration: 01/09/2026 to 31/08/2027

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Study Leader and/or Clinical Scientist for predominantly low-complexity global studies and provide Clinical Sciences support to high-complexity global studies when required.
  • Lead or support clinical protocol development in collaboration with the Medical Lead and cross-functional teams.
  • Act as the responsible author for clinical protocols, amendments, and related study documents.
  • Contribute medical and scientific expertise to the development of study-related documents, processes, and regulatory submissions.
  • Support strategic and scientific input into study concepts, feasibility assessments, and study execution strategies.
  • Develop and implement study-level operational execution plans with key cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and select high-performing clinical trial sites to achieve recruitment targets.
  • Lead or support global Cross-Functional Trial Teams (CTTs) to ensure delivery of study milestones and objectives.
  • Establish realistic timelines, promote effective planning, and identify opportunities to accelerate study execution.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment across internal and external partners.
  • Conduct ongoing medical and scientific review of clinical trial data, including data interpretation, safety trend analysis, signal detection, and study result reporting.
  • Support the preparation of Clinical Study Reports (CSRs) and scientific publications.
  • Prepare, lead, or support dose-escalation meetings with investigators and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely availability of high-quality clinical data for dose-escalation decisions and Phase II data reviews.
  • Proactively identify study risks and drive mitigation strategies and risk management activities.
  • Forecast, manage, and monitor study budgets in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to define study strategies, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Promote trial management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the department in cross-functional projects and act as a Subject Matter Expert when required.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related discipline required.
  • Advanced degree preferred (PhD, MD, PharmD, Master's degree, or equivalent).

Experience

  • Approximately 2+ years of experience in clinical research, clinical trials, or drug development.
  • Experience managing multiple clinical trials and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial methodology, particularly within early clinical development.
  • Operational project management experience with proven planning and organisational capabilities.
  • Experience interpreting, discussing, and presenting clinical trial data.

Technical Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of oncology and/or haematology preferred.
  • Understanding of clinical finance principles and budget management.
  • Good knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, regulatory requirements, SOPs, and clinical research best practices.
  • Experience with safety trend analysis, signal detection, and clinical data review processes.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • High learning agility and ability to adapt in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and influencing abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes in changing circumstances.
