Senior Accountant
Job Description
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements).
- Lead and support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all required tasks.
- Ensure financial records adhere to Swiss GAAP standards, IFRS, and internal policies.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and sub-ledgers with the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accurate vendor payments and customer invoicing.
- Assist with the preparation of financial documents and supporting schedules for internal and external audits.
- Participate in finance projects and workflow excellence initiatives to drive process improvements and efficiency.
- Support the automation of accounting processes and the integration of new systems for improved financial reporting and operations.
- Assist with controlling tasks, leveraging commercial understanding, and providing insights into financial performance when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within a multinational or tech-driven organization.
- Strong proficiency in Abacus accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, advanced functions).
- Familiarity with Swiss GAAP or other local accounting standards.
- Fluency in English and French is required
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a track record of recommending and implementing improvements in accounting processes.
