Staff Scientist - Genomics

In more details, you will... Applies and interprets scientific theories, concepts, techniques and regulatory requirements (CAP / CLIA, NYS) in clinical studies and accepts leadership role in developing scientific approaches.

• Contributes to long-term planning and technical policies of the department.* Performs evaluation and regular monitoring of clinical assays to ensure effective scientific performance.
• Act as principal investigator in companion diagnostics studies active in the department.* Provides technical / scientific consultation to scientific, operational staff on technical issues as well as to departments outside the lab (i.

e., Project Management).* Performs complex troubleshooting and assists in leading initiatives to solve challengingscientific problems with assays or instrumentation.

• Responds to unscheduled deadlines, client needs and crises without neglecting other duties.* May provide technical training and guidance for operational and junior scientific staff.
• Assists in managing scientific vendor relationships to troubleshoot issues and improve capabilities.* Participates in client visits as well as presentations to clients and professional groups.
• Regularly reads literature related to scientific area of expertise to remain current in knowledge.* Attend and present at meetings, conferences, symposia, and seminars to promote CLS's capabilities within dedicated scientific area.

What we're looking for Staff Scientists are the most successful at Labcorp with : * 3-4 years post-doctoral or industry experience within scientific area of expertise.

Additionalrelevant experience may be substituted for education requirements above.* Proven track record of research or method development in the field of genomics, oncology and NGS applications.

• Highly skilled in conducting research, data interpretation, and writing reports.* Effective communication skills with technical staff, business development staff, peers and clients.
