Role Overview for Automation Engineer (Beckhoff)

• Program the machine cycle and automaton processes using Beckhoff automation systems.
• Work with Beckhoff’s Twincat 3 and Twincat 2 for programming tasks.
• Initiate machine start-up sequences and make necessary software adjustments to ensure proper machine and axis operation.
• Provide customer and after-sales service support, handling technical inquiries and troubleshooting issues (10-20% of the role involves business travel).
• Regular travel is required to serve the company's French-speaking Swiss watchmaking customers, with occasional visits to a German Swiss customer.

Essential Skills and Qualifications for Automation Engineers

• HES Engineer or a qualified software / automation technician with strong experience in Beckhoff automation systems (Twincat 3 and Twincat 2).
• Proficient in programming languages such as C#, .Net, and with databases like SQL Server.
• Fluency in French.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Ability to communicate in German is a plus, especially for working with German-speaking customers.
• Experience with project management, demonstrating an ability to manage and execute technical projects efficiently.
• Additional knowledge in LabVIEW is highly advantageous.
• Autonomous, resourceful, and enjoys solving technical challenges.
• Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary team environment.
• Interested in working in a family-run SME, where you will have a broad range of responsibilities and opportunities to grow within the company.
• Experience with the medical validation of machine software is a plus, adding an extra layer of expertise to the role.
