ROLE DESCRIPTION
- As a key member of the Data Solutions and IT Team, the Data Solutions Manager will lead a team of Data Engineers to continue building on our Data Lakehouse foundation and provide solutions to our current data challenges and enable our technology modernization programs.
- S / He works on technology and innovation projects with a global reach and has a hands-on approach to understanding various data integration methods while paving the way for standards across the enterprise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data Solutions Manager responsibilities includes (but are not limited to) :
Stakeholder Engagement :
o Work closely with various departments to understand their data needs.
o Prioritize projects based on business impact.
o Communicate effectively with executives and project sponsors.
Team Management :
o Support a team of data engineers
o Foster a positive team culture, encouraging growth and collaboration
o Educate team members and business partners on area of technical expertise
o Enable and empower business users and sponsors to access and consume data easily for maximum business benefit
Requirement Engineering and planning :
o Gather and document business requirements and refine the product backlog
o Ensure alignment with business objectives
o Collaborate with leadership and the team to define and plan the sprints
Delivery management :
o Manage deliverables and ensure timely project execution
o Provides guidance, leadership and align the architecture and strategies across various departments throughout the enterprise
o Continuously adjusts processes to ensure high performance and scalability of the various applications
o Ensuring reliable, accurate, and accessible data for responsible data entry areas
Vendor and Partner Management :
o Collaborate with external partners and vendors
o Track and manage budgets and capacities
Data Governance & Audit :
o Oversee data governance practices, ensuring compliance and data security
o Own and drive the execution of all audit processes to ensure compliance
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 - 4 years of experience working in a similar role
- Experience with Enterprise Architectures
- Experience with requirement engineering and scrum
- Experience with the Azure data stack is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Ability to switch gears quickly and cope with change
- Experience working in a complex environment with multiple source systems feeding a data warehouse.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, information technology or a related field.
- MCSD, MCSE Data Management and Analytics or similar certifications would be a plus.
- Project Management and / or SCRUM related certification is a plus, but not required
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in the cruise industry is a plus
