Reporting to the GUESS Sustainability & ESG Global Associate Director, and working collaboratively across the organization, the Sustainability & ESG Supervisor performs activities and participate in ongoing development of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability programs and deployment of global ESG projects in coordination with the Corporation Guidelines.
Supports the Sustainability & ESG dept. in the relations with external stakeholders including service providers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), industry associations and internal working groups on sustainability initiatives.
Develops content, training, tracking metrics, gathering quantitative and qualitative data, evaluating impacts and outcomes and supporting the development of a sustainability mindset and culture throughout the organization.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support ESG Program Expansion and Strategy
Assist in expanding and scaling ESG initiatives, including training, awareness programs, and the rollout of new policies within GUESS. Execute strategic plans and programming by collaborating across departments, building consensus, and obtaining necessary approvals. Activate internal stakeholders to support key ESG initiatives, providing guidance and briefings to ensure successful project execution, while liaising with colleagues to extend the reach of GUESS's ESG strategy.
Support the establishment and management of new processes as GUESS partners with industry groups or NGO programs. Ensure the seamless integration of these new practices into existing systems, handling the associated administrative tasks efficiently.
Actively monitor sustainability and environmental legislations.
Contribute to the development of the GUESS ESG Report by gathering and analyzing data, drafting content, and collaborating with relevant teams to ensure comprehensive and transparent reporting. Serve as the subject matter expert on third-party reporting frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), and global standards like the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) and International Labour Organization guidelines.
Conduct regular benchmarking of GUESS’s ESG initiatives against industry peers, identifying strengths, weaknesses, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Provide strategic recommendations based on these analyses to enhance GUESS’s sustainability performance.
Lead all aspects of the supplier audit processes, including scheduling, scoring, ranking, and post-audit follow-up. Ensure continuous improvement by collaborating closely with suppliers and factories on corrective actions. Conduct supplier visits to discuss adherence to the GUESS Code of Conduct, interacting with all levels of supplier personnel, from workers to company owners.
Work with vendors and factories to develop and implement effective corrective action plans. Provide support and guidance for improvements, and evaluate their effectiveness. Present comprehensive assessments to management based on audit data and findings.
Maintain and oversee the Supplier Database, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data. Implement blocks or other restrictions for suppliers that do not meet ESG criteria or exhibit audit issues.
Conduct comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risk assessments, in collaboration with the Sustainability & ESG Team. Focus on identifying key risks and opportunities for improvement across the supply chain, the company and the broader industry.
Support data collection and in-depth analysis of supplier ESG performance, including both social and environmental metrics. Develop detailed reports and present insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making.
Act as the liaison between GUESS and external stakeholders, including NGOs, service providers, and industry partners. Lead engagement efforts to drive ESG initiatives, align strategies, and foster partnerships.
Perform other duties as assigned, including ad-hoc projects and initiatives aligned with GUESS' Sustainability & ESG strategy.
