Job Overview For our Lugano Office (Switzerland), we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in designing and implementing JAVA REST-based API systems.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical proficiency, solid architectural insight, and the ability to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. What you'll do: Development & Integration: Design, develop, integrate, and test Java-based backend solutions, microservices architectures, and REST APIs Expertise in Java/Microservices/API Solutions: Act as a subject matter expert, supporting the lifecycle management and development of robust Java solutions Collaboration: Work closely with Agile teams, providing expert consultation and support to product owners to gather requirements and document solutions that align with business objectives Secure Coding: Apply best practices in secure coding to ensure all solutions are robust, secure, and aligned with regulatory requirements What you bring: Bachelor's/Master's degree, preferably in computer science or engineering 5+ years of experience in software design and development of Java microservices architecture Advanced practical skills with Spring Boot, Spring Security and REST APIs development Hands-on experience with database integrations, SQL, and event streaming systems like Apache Kafka Hands-on experience with testing in Java , including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing (e.g.

JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworks) Advanced knowledge of secure coding best practices Experience in architecting distributed systems with best practices for system design and implementation Proficiency in Italian and English is a must Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus Location and Work Flexibility Please note that a fully remote work policy is not offered for this role Candidates should be prepared to relocate to Canton Ticino/Switzerland or Italian border areas close to Switzerland (ex.
