Digital Biomarker Device Operations Manager

The Position

Digital health technology is transforming the way we develop personalized medicines for patients. Roche is dedicated to creating community- and regulator-accepted digital endpoints and digital outcomes that redefine the way we measure disease progression in clinical drug trials, and make them accessible to Biopharma companies and the research community.

We are looking for a device operations lead to drive the digital biomarker device deployment operations enabling the collection of digital endpoints for multiple disease areas, to accelerate the development of novel digital biomarker data insights products.

Job Mission

We, the Digital Biomarker (dBM) Chapter in Roche Information Solutions, are an integrated team of scientists, technologists, data analysts and operationalization experts, that leverages mobile technologies like smartphones and wearables to collect objective and continuous sensor data from patients in clinical trials.

We co-create innovative digital remote monitoring concepts for sensitive and meaningful drug development endpoints, implement them in technology solutions, develop health related outcome measures with the data, seek community- and regulatory acceptance of corresponding endpoints and offer them to Biopharma companies and research institutes for use in clinical trials.

Moreover, we are establishing the scientific foundations for disease monitoring and screening solutions in clinical practice.

Your Impact

Acting as the Device Operations Manager in the digital biomarker operations subchapter you will :

establish a digital biomarker Device Operations capability, in RIS in order to develop and embed products in clinical trials to support clinical trial decision-making across the Roche Pharma portfolio and for external customers, while supporting the evolution of functionality required for commercial Roche clinical care solutions.

be responsible for the device operations and deployment of Digital Biomarker products embedded in clinical trials to support decision-making across the Roche Pharma portfolio and for external customers

organize lead and oversee a complex device operations hybrid team across Roche and vendors with focus on operational efficiency and customer success

own and drive the evolution of the device operations tooling and processes

lead and co-develop a vision for the evolution of the device operations strategy

contribute to the evolution of the RIS D&A Digital Biomarker Operations sub-chapter strategy, roadmap and portfolio

evolve the device operations capability to maximize efficiency and value capture, while ensuring a high level of quality and customer and user satisfaction.

liaise with business and development teams to ensure operational requirements are integrated into the product design and development processes

prepare and deliver high profile management presentations on device operations strategy and progress

drive engaging interactions with internal and external stakeholders to help advance the adoption of the developed solutions

Your Profile :

University degree (MSc. level or above) in engineering, medical or natural science, computer science, business informatics, or similar

10 years of related experience in the pharmaceutical or other regulated industry, including deployment and operations of digital biomarker devices or other digital health solutions.

Proven track record in developing and bringing digital health solutions (including SaMD) to market, including device operations.

Substantial experience with the fast lifecycle of mobile applications development and / or deployment

Provable experience leading in matrix setup, recognized for embracing new ways of leading and working, with strengths in coaching and fostering a collaborative environment

Extensive technical background (+10 years’ experience in the Informatics / Information Management area) and Software Development Lifecycle
