Head of Sales Chemicals, Polymers Europe based in Switzerland, Hybrid-work possible

Astrantia Talent has been retained by a well-established, growth-oriented petrochemical company to assist in their search for a Head of Sales Chemicals, Polymers Europe.

Founded 25 years ago, the company has expanded steadily, now selling its diverse portfolio of 15 sustainable polymer and petrochemical products in over 100 countries worldwide.

Job Purpose :

The Head of Sales is responsible to lead and create sales strategies, drive revenue growth, expand the market and ensure client satisfaction.

The role is pivotal in identifying market opportunities, capitalizing on industry trends, and building long-term partnerships in the chemical sector.

You will be in charge of the European sales team and are expected to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Accountabilities :

  • Lead the sales team in support the planned expansion in the market.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Identify new business prospects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales efforts with product development and marketing strategies.
  • Prepare a comprehensive business plan.
  • Coordinate supply chain logistics for timely deliveries.
  • Optimise netback profit from sales.
  • Monitor sales performance against KPIs.
  • Maintain inventory analysis to prevent overstock / stock out situations.
  • Utilise market trends to enhance sales strategies.
  • Stay informed of industry intelligence, occurrences, and price trends.
  • Assist Global Commercial Directors to enact global strategy.
  • Establish strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and events.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations, including issuing sales contracts.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience :

  • Chemist degree or Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the petrochemical industry.
  • Deep understanding of petrochemical products, applications and industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of success in driving sales growth.
  • Results oriented.
  • Fluent in English, other languages can be an advantage.
