Legal Counsel
How will you make an impact? HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
Each of the areas of responsibility will involve a variety of different challenges requiring the person to be both flexible and adaptable whilst demonstrating gravitas in their dealings with internal and external counterparties.
Reporting directly to the Lead Counsel for these specific Maisons, the tasks include :
- Providing timely and results oriented legal advice and supporting on a wide variety of matters across the activities of the Maison.
- Responding to ad hoc queries and identifying, analysing and evaluating risks in order to provide appropriate and compliant solutions.
- Negotiating, reviewing, and drafting of a wide variety of legal and commercial documents, including manufacturing, distribution, services, license, sponsoring etc agreements.
- Working in close cooperation with a variety of Richemont entities and with the support functions of the Richemont Group and liaising with and managing external counsels.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified lawyer (French law qualification is preferred) - Bar admission is a must.
- Minimum of 5 years post bar qualification experience in providing legal advice on a wide variety of legal matters in an international environment.
A combination of private practice and in-house experience is preferred.
- Experience will include commercial / contract law. Proven drafting and negotiation skills is important.
- Fluent in both English and French.
- Very good command of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).

- Solid grasp of the principles of law and an ability to adapt your work quickly dealing with different tasks also in fields of law where your experience may have been limited.
- Strong team player with excellent project management and communication skills.
- Result and business oriented, open-minded, excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work in close cooperation with others - both internal and external lawyers and non-lawyer colleagues.
- Excellent drafting skills.
- Have sound commercial judgment, strong intellect and the confidence to take the lead in negotiations with both internal and external counterparties.
- Demonstrate excellent persuasion and negotiation skills in complex settings.
- Articulate proposals clearly, balance the requirement for technical expertise, and have the ability to recognise the bigger commercial picture.
