Laboratory Technician - Materials Testing and Characterization Specialist (m/f/d) 100%
For our client, one of the largest and leading pharmaceutical companies, we are looking for a Materials Characterization Laboratory Specialist .
In this role, you will apply your expertise in physical characterization techniques and work at the interface of research and formulation science to support the development and analysis of materials.

Tasks
- Plan, conduct, and document small-scale experiments in a highly automated laboratory environment.
- Characterize materials using analytical methods such as rheology, DSC, TGA, XRPD, and DVS.
- Perform and document routine viscosity tests and evaluate flow properties.
- Conduct wetting and adhesion tests, as well as optical microscopy and light scattering analyses.
- Evaluate raw data and interpret analytical results, optimizing existing methods and procedures.
- Operate and utilize specialized equipment for screening, lab automation, and online analytics.
- Schedule and carry out routine maintenance of instruments as a key user.
Requirements
- Completed training as a laboratory technician or university degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry, material science, analytics, formulation).
- Experience in handling and analyzing materials on a small scale in a laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of material characterization techniques (e.g., rheology, viscosity, XRPD, DSC, TGA, DVS).
- Understanding of HSE requirements and safe laboratory practices.
- Excellent planning skills and a structured approach to work.
- Agile and flexible personality accustomed to working in a dynamic environment with a strong customer focus.
- Desirable : knowledge of digital and data-related aspects.
- Languages : English (German is an advantage).
