Planning and Control MANAGER (M/W) - ZURICH
Job Description
Our client based in Zürich is looking for a skilled Planning & Control Manager to bolster their ongoing endeavors and capitalize on emerging prospects within their central operations.
This role, which demands full-time commitment, entails spearheading the facilitation of project expansion and active involvement in global infrastructure bids.
Situated in Zürich, occasional travel to project sites will be required.
Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software, highlighting staff resources, logistics and temporary works requirements.
- Prepare tender-stage project schedules including the procurement of goods and services and incorporating interfaces with lead-in activities in engineering and other disciplines.
- Oversee the site-based program management of ongoing construction projects, summarizing the key issues for management and providing input and guidance to the site-based team where necessary.
- Monitor the overall status of projects including the design and construction progress, achievement of major milestones and actual versus planned performance.
- Be able to develop construction methodologies in close cooperation with the wider project team to effectively demonstrate the construction techniques and sequencing as part of the successful delivery of projects.
- Where necessary, engage with the supply chain to inform the project program with regards to design periods, lead-in times, construction periods, plant acquisition and labor requirements, as necessary.
- Assess and communicate the impact of change notifications on the project schedule.
- Liaise with cost disciplines to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of budgets and ensure that the impacts of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules.
- Be able to review, analyze and create preliminary project schedules during the early phases of project development.
- Support and structure processes for all phases of a project (Business development, tendering, design, procurement and construction and O&M).
Skills / Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or a related field. FLUENT English is required .
- 10+ years of experience on international projects.
- Professional experience primarily in planning and project control.
- Construction site experience is a must, experience in the transport sector would be preferred.
- Expert knowledge of manual and computerized project planning and scheduling techniques.
- Project management certification such as PMP would be an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of scheduling software including MS Project / Primavera.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
- Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques.
- Good understanding of Cost Control, Estimating, Change control and Risk analysis.
- Significant experience in Project Controls, Scheduling, Cost Control or Project Coordination.
- Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, superior communication skills, team building, and strong work ethic.
- Process oriented.
- A positive and enthusiastic approach to challenges and problems.
- Willingness to travel, part of the role will be on project site.
