Toachieve this goal, the industry will require the coordinated efforts of allstakeholders, including airlines, airports, air navigation service providers,and manufacturers, as well as significant government support.
WithinIATA, the Consulting & Certifications department plays a key roledisseminating the good practices and assisting industry players in thedefinition and implementation of their energy transition initiatives.
Reportingto the Senior Principal, Safety, Flight Operations and Environment Consulting, thePrincipal, Environment Consulting will be responsible to implement thisvision and further develop the business offering of IATA related to environmentand sustainability consulting.
What your day would be like
The Principal, Environment Consulting is expected to :
Design and implement the Environment consulting offering of IATA in close collaboration with environment and sustainability Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and by leveraging existing resources (data / publication).
Work with IATA Consulting Teams and SMEs to achieve revenue, expense, and surplus margin targets for the associated profit center(s).
Identify consulting opportunities related to environment & sustainability topics. This will require developing unsolicited proposals as well as responses to calls for expression of interest and requests for proposals in coordination with the regional teams and central business development teams.
Support the negotiation of consulting projects in conjunction with the Consulting teams in the regions.
Develop a pool of external experts and negotiate contracts for external resources needed to execute the consultancy projects, including pricing, specifications, and resource allocation.
Manage the execution and / or delivery of consultancy projects in coordination with the Consulting delivery teams in the regions.
Prepare annual budgets and quarterly financial forecasts, submit reports and regular updates on progress, accomplishments, financial status, and opportunities as requested.
Manage the business development pipeline for the projects under responsibility in coordination with the regional teams and central business development teams.
Oversee the career development of the environment & sustainability consulting staff in the Consulting regions in conjunction with the relevant Heads of Poles (regions) and PPD (People, Performance, and Development) staff.
We would love to hear from you if
- University degree (Master or PhD) in Engineering / Environment / Aviation.
- Solid experience in environment and sustainability with broad international experience in the aviation industry. In-depth knowledge and understanding of global aviation environment & sustainability topics (net-zero, SAF, carbon off-setting mechanism, emissions modelling, climate policy, noise, etc.).
- Strong strategic vision and a proven track record of delivering successful commercial projects and initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, as well as to manage stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate environment strategies to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key industry stakeholders.
Travel Required : Y : 20%-30%
