Senior Manager - Technology Consulting - International Development 1

The opportunity

We are currently looking for a highly talented Technology Consulting professional (Senior Manager level) with a strong understanding of technology and digital transformation to join our Geneva-based International Development team.

For this role we are looking for three key attributes, a) experience in the International Development sector, b) deep technical expertise, and c) previous consulting experience.

This role offers the opportunity to utilise your knowledge, passion and experience in the International Development sector (including the UN and major NGOs).

Your key responsibilities

People Development : You will perform the role of mentor and coach to help the team to grow and develop. You will provide leadership and support on projects both on-site and remotely.

Perform regular check-ins with team members and people for whom you coach as a part of the performance management process

Business Development : You will lead sales proposals in your domain and client base in collaboration with the proposal development team offshore.

Participate in client pitches to position EY as the preferred supplier.

Develop and maintain relationships with client stakeholders to establish and maintain our status as a trusted advisor. Identify opportunities to continue to build our brand in the sector, including speaking at industry events.

Client Service : Advise client on leading practices and technology / industry trends, application / integration architecture, solution design, and implementation leading practices.

Build lasting relationships through day-to-day interactions with key client managers and staff.

Delivery : Bring your functional / technical experience and knowledge to deliver solutions which allow clients to achieve their business strategy.

Present technical alternatives and supporting recommendations aligned with the client's business and technology requirements.

Manage technical and / or functional teams to design, build, test and implement enterprise applications. Anticipate, raise, and resolve issues which pose risks to the project.

Monitor progress and quality. Track and report status.

Skills and attributes for success

• Prior technology consulting experience, ideally with government or NGO clients.
• A solid understanding of all key corporate IT functions including; Architecture, Project Delivery, Service Delivery, Cyber, Operations and Cloud
• A deep understanding of best practices within a large professional corporate IT team.
• Hands-on experience with managing at least one of the major IT functions - ideally
• Excellent oral presentation skills, with the ability to lead meetings & hold workshops with executives
• Robust skills in managing relationships with international clients.
• Exceptional ability to strategize and resolve complex problems, with a focus on creating logical solutions, identifying issues, and managing vast amounts of complex information.
• Demonstrate curiosity and thought leadership by maintaining knowledge of evolving trends in technology & management
• Ability to travel 20%-50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries / sectors you serve
• Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) - Ideally
