Quality Manager
In this position, reporting directly to the Regional Quality Director, you will manage quality operations in two Distribution Centers (DCs).
These centers not only serve as the warehouse for products but also provide several value-added services such as product re-work (customized packaging, re-packaging, customized and regulatory labeling, etc.
and product sets bundling / unbundling.
We are looking for a professional familiar with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) standards for warehousing and distribution activities, as well as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards for product re-works.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities :
Compliance and Operational :
- Establish and manage a Quality team.
- Ensure GMP & GDP compliance and implement Quality processes in all Distribution Centers.
- Execute self-evaluations based on GMP & GDP regulations in the DCs.
- Manage non-conformance issues on products stored in the DCs.
- Coordinate inspections on quality issues or non-conformance reports.
- Ensure the sampling process is managed appropriately in cases of quality defects and further investigation.
- Make decisions on product disposition (release for customer, re-work, or destroy).
- Liaise with internal departments (Global Quality, Planning, Operations, Customer Services, Regulatory, and Manufacturing Engineering) and colleagues from other sites concerning stock status, product holds, potential product recalls, and product re-works.
- Support Site Lead Management in management reviews by providing quality metrics.
Projects & Innovation :
- Implement and further develop the corporate quality system for distribution sites, including documentation / records management systems and training management systems.
- Design and roll out a specific quality system based on GMP standards for re-work activities.
- Develop and implement an internal and external audit program and be the key responsible person for corporate audits and external inspections.
- Roll out corporate projects on-site, such as product tracing or temperature control monitoring.
- Act as the quality key point of contact for expansion in existing or new DCs.
- Map end-to-end processes and identify potential system enhancements and controls to maintain product quality to customers.
- Apply creative thinking and solution-driven decision-making for product non-conformances.
We are looking for a hands-on, positive, curious, collaborative, open-minded, proactive, and driven professional with a degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or science, and further training and qualification in quality.
Requirements :
At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance in a regulated industry such as pharma, food & beverages, tobacco, or cosmetics.
Experience in logistics companies specializing in the distribution of pharma or consumer health products is also considered.
- People management experience.
- Knowledge of GMP and GDP regulations and practical experience applying these standards in distribution centers, manufacturing sites, or packaging sites.
- Solid project management and risk management skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
- Business fluency in German and English.
