We are looking for a Head of Finance for a Reinsurance Company.

Head of Finance

About the job :

Oversee all general ledger activities in SAP, including postings, reconciliations, period closings, and maintenance of key master data.

Ensure proper application of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Manage securities accounting in cooperation with external partners.

Lead accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.

Coordinate payment processes, cash handling, and expense management.

Serve as the primary contact for banks, service providers, auditors, and internal audit.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks.

Produce regulatory filings and tax-related submissions, including VAT and withholding tax reclaims.

Deliver liquidity analyses, budget vs. actual reports, and ad-hoc evaluations.

Maintain and develop the internal control system (ICS).

Lead and develop the finance accounting team.

Support the Head of Finance and contribute to cross-functional projects.

Prepare internal reports and analyses as needed.

About the candidate :

• Strong decision-making skills within your area of responsibility.

Proven leadership experience in finance or accounting.

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification.

Several years of professional experience in financial accounting or controlling, ideally in a regulated environment.

Strong expertise in SAP (FI; experience with CFM is a plus).

Solid understanding of accounting standards and regulatory reporting.

Confident in preparing financial statements and managing end-to-end accounting processes.

Experience with ICS / ICFR frameworks is an advantage.

Strong analytical skills, precision, and a structured working style.

Proven leadership experience or clear potential to lead a team.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Fluent German and English required.
