The University Computer Center at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences is looking to fill the following permanent position as soon as possible :

Head of the university computer center (m / f / d)

Full-time, up to TV-L E14

The University Computer Centre is the university's central IT service provider and supports teaching, research and administrative tasks by providing IT infrastructure, central services and support for important university-wide digitalization projects.

We are looking for you for :

• the strategic planning and conceptual development of a high-performance and secure IT infrastructure
• the derivation / development of strategic planning for IT services in teaching, research and administration; this involves setting up and managing strategic IT projects,
• responsibility for personnel and management of a growing, efficient team of currently 10 people
• Ensuring IT operations and developing professional IT service management
• Planning, organizing and optimizing the data center's internal processes and external interaction with user groups and suppliers
• advising the university management, faculties and administration within the framework of established IT governance
• Networking with the other Thuringian university computer centers and the Thuringian IT Center

You fit in with us :

• with a relevant university degree in computer science / business informatics or a related subject or equivalent skills as well as extensive professional (management) experience in the IT environment
• Ideally with several years of relevant professional experience in the required subject areas with conceptual experience and knowledge in the planning, support and expansion of complex IT landscapes
• as a committed and communicative personality with a customer and service orientation
• with proven integrative skills and social competence
• with strong strategic and process-oriented thinking
• with a solution-oriented way of working and proactive communication
• with business fluent written and spoken German and a good command of English
