Role

As the Head of Manufacturing, you fulfill effective production according to the sales needs focuses on high-quality assembly by establishing a learning organization.

You ensure that the production process is compliant with MDR and GMP requirements, including ORACLE as the standard tool.

You drive lean manufacturing implementation intending to continuously improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets, which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
  • Ensure compliance in the manufacturing process with MDR and GMP requirements
  • Ensure production fulfillment according to sales needs based on the planning input
  • Establish a learning organization by implementing measures for continuous improvement / S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
  • Be responsible for Make or Buy decisions for effective focus on core competencies in close cooperation with local procurement
  • Ensure and drive the implementation of lean manufacturing to continuously improve efficiency and quality
  • Monitoring and release of all production relevant documents (assembly instruction, FAT, etc.)
  • Monitoring of all safety and product-related training of the manufacturing staff
  • Enforce safety regulations in production, implement safety-relevant work techniques, methodology, and ergonomics
  • Drive Key Performance Indicators of manufacturing to measure the performance, to ensure and continuously improve cost-efficient and on-time production along with the highest product quality standards
  • Develop and sustain high-performing teams through setting SMART goals, delivering performance reviews, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Ensure employee development by allocating tasks serving skills, individual interests, and career goals to promote and maximize employees’ potential.
  • Ensure optimal staffing of your team by strategically planning, recruiting, and onboarding / training of new employees.
  • Continuously review, plan and implement processes and systems to maximize operating efficiency.
  • Promote health and well-being of your team, ensure operational and work safety.
  • Co-ordinate financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency : responsibility for the achievement of financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, reviewing performance data (KPI’s) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels.

Requirements

  • At least years of work experience in global production environment with strong focus on assembly
  • At least years work experience from a strong regulated environment like medical device or flight industry
  • Technical Bachelor degree followed after a technical apprentice
  • Solid working experience in either customer field service or manufacturing or procurement
  • Experienced in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
  • Strong leader with optimistic view and strong process orientation, experienced to work with different cultures
  • Able to think strategically and to adapt to changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
  • Personality traits including flexibility, self-motivation, honesty and reliability, optimism
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and experience with CRM and ERP systems
  • Willingness and ability to travel and stay abroad (up to %)
