Lonza’s Global Internal Audit function is looking for a motivated and experienced IT Internal Auditor to join our dynamic and diverse team.

You will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and completion of IT-focused internal audit assignments. As you grow in this role, you will lead audit processes and provide insights that enhance IT governance, risk management, and operational controls.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our IT practices meet compliance, security, and operational standards, while identifying areas for continuous improvement as the company advances through its technology.

This position offers significant opportunities to build leadership skills and grow your career within Lonza. After 3-4 years of internal audit experience, you’ll be well-positioned for leadership roles, with ample potential for advancement.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in, and eventually lead, the full IT audit lifecycle, including :
  • maintaining the IT audit universe, conducting IT risk assessments, and developing audit plans;
  • planning, preparing, executing, and documenting audits, followed by debriefs with key stakeholders and senior IT leadership;
  • following up on IT audit recommendations and tracking their implementation.
  • Conduct IT audits focused on key IT processes and their application within Lonza’s environment.
  • Support the IT organization through ad-hoc consulting engagements.
  • Maintain strong communication and build relationships with the IT organization, its leadership, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in IT auditing and / or demonstrated proficiency in IT operations.
  • Solid understanding of IT Governance and risk management.
  • Technical knowledge covering both infrastructure (data center housing, network, virtualization, servers, storage) and application layer (e.

g. standard architecture principles) .

  • Familiarity with IT management practices, including :
  • Operations (e.g. Incident and Problem management, Change management, Monitoring, Disaster recovery planning);
  • Development (e.g. SDLC);
  • Security (e.g. Access management, Patch and Vulnerability management, Network segmentation and filtering);
  • Project management.
  • Hands-on experience with major Enterprise IT platforms is a plus (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange, AWS).
  • Foundational knowledge of programming languages (e.g., scripts, SQL) and the ability to read and review code .
  • Familiarity with IT and IT Security frameworks (e.g. ITIL, COBIT, ISO, NIST) is beneficial.
  • CISA certification is a plus (completion mandatory within the first year of employment) .

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present audit findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10-20% as needed.
