The Department of Reproductive Endocrinology at University Hospital Zurich is seeking a passionate and accomplished Junior Group Leader / Senior Scientist to lead an innovative project focused on endometriosis research.

This project operates at the intersection of immunology and women’s health, with the goal of advancing our understanding of endometriosis through direct research on clinical samples.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious scientist to establish and grow their own research group, generating insights that will shape the future of endometriosis treatment and women's health research.

Tasks

  • Obtain research funding within the next 1-2 years to support and grow your research group.
  • Establish and lead a dedicated research team focused on endometriosis research within the University Hospital Zurich.
  • Design, execute, and manage experiments using the hospitals large biobank (patient tissue and blood).
  • Collaborate with clinical partners to manage and expand the endometriosis biobank
  • Apply advanced immunology and cell biology techniques, such as multi-panel flow cytometry, cell and tissue culture
  • Publish 1-2 high-impact research papers per year

Requirements

  • MD / PhD or PhD with postdoctoral research experience in immunology, cell biology, or a related field.
  • Proven potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program, with prior experience in successful grant writing being a strong advantage
  • Strong publication record with high-impact research
  • Expertise in advanced flow cytometry, including the design and execution of complex, multi-marker panels (>

10 20 markers)

  • Hands on experience with tissue culture, especially in handling and processing patient derived samples
  • A strong interest in women’s health research
  • Proven ability to collaborate with clinical, academic, or industry partners, and lead interdisciplinary research projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in publishing, presenting at conferences, and conveying complex research to diverse audiences.
