PhD in Nanoscale Characterization of Perovskite Solar Cells
Your role
Your PhD work is embedded into a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Topic of this project is to characterize perovskite semiconductor devices on the nanoscale using atomic force microscopy.
The goal is to clearly relate nanoscale observations to device performance. You would focus on experimental aspects and work closely together with another PhD student concentrating on modeling.
Potential tasks are :
- Optoelectronic and spectroscopic characterization on the device and nanoscale
- Developing AFM-based characterization techniques on perovskite samples
- Fabrication of films and devices
- Identifying and formulating open research questions
- Presenting and publishing your research results
Your profile
- You have an excellent Master degree in physics, materials science, or electrical engineering, or similar
- You have a solid background in semiconductor physics
- Ideally, in your Master thesis or a research project, you gained already experience on nanoscale characterization of semiconductors by using for instance electrical AFM modes
- You enjoy working in a team but at the same time like carrying out tasks independently
