Unilabs is looking for a Medical Director to oversee its operations in Switzerland. As one of the largest diagnostic providers in Europe, Unilabs offers laboratory, imaging, and pathology services to patients and healthcare professionals.

The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standard of care is delivered across all services provided by Unilabs in Switzerland.

Responsibilities

  • Be at the heart of scientific innovation at Unilabs Switzerland & identify potential sources of growth (new products / services)
  • Work with the Head of Medical strategy & innovation to develop and build Unilabs’ Innovation pipeline to favour strategic alliances on new tests
  • Support Unilabs’ Total Quality roadmap and help ensure communication of the quality expectations throughout the Group
  • Provide assistance in medical / scientific recruitment processes
  • Lead internal and external medical programs by integrating scientific, clinical, operational and commercial priorities

o Together with our medical excellence team, assist the Procurement office in sourcing activities and provide for adequate medical input to facilitate decision making

o Support the marketing organization through medical training and education on Unilabs’ service offers

o Provide senior medical advice on all aspects of Unilabs initiatives

o Serve as leading medical spokesperson for Unilabs Switzerland and ambassador with key opinion leaders, government and regulatory authorities, professional associations, special interest and customer groups, manufacturers and clinical research organizations.

o This will entail building strong relationships with targeted experts in the market, interfacing with relevant media groups, corporate partners and health authorities, as well as investor relations and senior management and colleagues both internally and externally across geographies.

o Continuously increase the awareness and appreciation of Unilabs’ services

Requirements

The Medical Director in Switzerland will be a senior and dynamic executive with considerable knowledge and experience in the field of healthcare delivery, and specifically medical diagnostics.

This experience is likely to have been acquired from within a clinical setting (research and medical centres), healthcare services, diagnostics or devices equipment manufacturers and possibly also pharmaceutical companies or biotechs.

A successful candidate will stand out as they :

  • Combine scientific and medical knowledge with business acumen effortlessly, understanding the need to care about the customer and the performance
  • Are charismatic and dynamic, able to energise the medical teams
  • Are a go to reference within the business for innovation and ideas
  • Are able to think outside of the box, bringing simplicity to complexity
  • Have a can do attitude and will quickly get to the essential whilst leveraging their scientific knowledge
  • Will be a person of reference for Unilabs’ key external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate an excellent command of English (written and spoken) given the need to effectively work within an international diagnostics company
  • Bring some international experience on top of their familiarity with the Swiss healthcare landscape
  • MD degree and license to practice medicine in Switzerland
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of Swiss healthcare regulations and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Fluent in French / German and English (spoken and written)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and manage multiple projects and priorities.
