- We’re seeking an Environmental Performance Analyst to enhance our Design Technologies team in Basel
- With a robust understanding of sustainability, you’ll collaborate with our design teams to integrate building performance and Life Cycle Analysis into our design process
- Guide design teams in formulating early design strategies and metrics for building performance analysis
- Conduct and interpret analysis and simulations on climate data, wind, solar radiation, daylight, energy use in initial designs, thermal comfort, and embodied carbon
- Create presentation graphics and data visualizations to illustrate building performance and sustainable design principles
- Develop training workshops and materials, aiding design teams in using our tools and methodologies
- Collaborate with Design Technologies experts to develop new workflows and tools
Skills and Qualifications :
- A degree in Architecture or Engineering, and a master’s degree with a focus on Sustainable Design or Building Science
- At least 3 years of experience in architectural practice or in building performance
- Proficiency in passive design strategy analysis for early phase decisions
- Expertise in model-based environmental analysis and simulations, and calculations of Embodied Carbon and Lifecycle Assessment
- Mastery of Autodesk Revit, Rhino3D, Grasshopper, and sustainability toolkits like Ladybug and Honeybee. Revit API or Python programming is a plus
- Fluency in English; German is beneficial
- As part of the Design Technologies (DT) team at HdM, you’ll join the forefront of exploring and applying digital design methodologies.
Our group intersects diverse areas of expertise from BIM and Computational Design to AI, Visuals, AR / VR, digital fabrication, and Building Analytics
- In this role, you’ll engage in active collaboration across various projects and with external parties. Your contributions will not only enhance model and data utilization in the sustainability efforts but also bolster our collective knowledge through internal training and information sharing efforts
