Chemical Engineer

Main tasks and responsibilities

You will work with Senior development chemist in the team to develop ink formulations by selecting and combining appropriate chemical components, including pigments, solvents, resins, and additives.

Ensure ink formulations meet specific performance criteria and customer requirements, such as color accuracy, adhesion, viscosity, drying time, and durability- You will continuously evaluate and improve ink production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce production costs, and minimize waste.

Utilize mathematical modeling and simulation techniques to analyze and optimize production processes, including mixing, milling, and dispersion.

You will collaborate with suppliers to identify and source high-quality raw materials that meet ink production specifications.

Assess the compatibility of raw materials and their impact on ink properties.- You will establish and oversee quality control procedures and testing protocols to ensure inks meet industry standards and customer expectations.

Use analytical instruments and techniques to analyze ink samples and identify deviations from specifications.- You will work with production team to implement safety protocols to ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials used in ink production.

And with quality management to ensure compliance with up-to-date pharma and food regulatory- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving.

Diagnose and resolve production issues and quality problems that may arise during ink production. Collaborate with production teams to address issues promptly and effectively.

• Process Scale-Up. Facilitate the scale-up of laboratory-scale ink formulations to commercial production levels while maintaining consistency and cost-effectiveness.
• Research and Development. Explore innovative ink formulations and materials to improve existing products and stay up-to-date with advancements in ink technology.
• Documentation and Reporting. Maintain detailed records of ink formulations, production processes, and quality data. Generate reports on production performance, process improvements, and cost analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production staff, quality control personnel, engineering team and customer service, to ensure achieve common objectives.- Profile
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering / colloidal science or a related field. PhD is a plus
• Strong knowledge of chemistry, chemical processes, and materials science.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation.
• Familiarity with process control systems and automation.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Previous experience in ink production is often preferred
• English Fluent, German C2
