General Description The Theatre Manager serves as a member of the Middle School Faculty Team, while also working closely with the Primary School Team, who is tasked with managing the day-to-day operations and administration of the Baarburg Theatre.

This includes providing technical support in audio / visual systems to staff, students, and community groups from across Zug Campus, as well as overseeing scheduling and promotion of facility use.

Additionally, the role involves hands-on technical duties such as operating and maintaining theatrical equipment. Furthermore, the Theatre Manager takes charge of all aspects related to school event preparation and production, playing an essential role in ensuring the success of these events while staying aligned with the educational goals of the school.

Reporting directly to the Middle School Principal, the Theatre Manager collaborates closely with various stakeholders including faculty, students, parents, and other departments within the ISZL community.

This position requires flexibility, including availability for evening and weekend work to provide seamless event support.

This is a part-time role (50%). The Theatre Manager is expected to : Main Responsibilities Maintain the Baarburg Theatre calendar of events, ensuring transparent communication with faculty to assess and schedule requests for facility usage.

Oversee Theatre Technology, ensuring upgrades are implemented as necessary. Manage sound, lighting, and video streaming during events on Zug Campus, including the storing and management of a digital archive for any media recorded.

Train ISZL staff members and students to provide support for Theatre-related tasks. Update inventory regularly, assessing device condition and compatibility with existing systems and equipment.

Collaborate with Facilities Management to facilitate setup, stage preparation, and furniture placement. Manage event spaces to support rehearsals and production meetings effectively.

Provide support for live-streaming performances and maintain recording studios when required. Offer technical and creative assistance to users of ISZL’s theatre and performance space.

Assist staff and students with ad hoc media and tech support, including sound recording, filming, and editing. Coordinate with relevant school departments to prepare for and execute events.

Organize technical support for all Zug Campus theatre events listed in the school’s calendar. Consult with the line manager to rent or purchase equipment as needed, while adhering to the budget.

Maintain current and / or develop systems to support the efficient use of the theatre space and associated equipment for all stakeholders With additional compensation, provide support for groups and individuals utilising the theatre space for rental purposes.

Custodial Responsibilities Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient and effective work environment and function Technical Equipment Provide first-line maintenance for all relevant technical equipment Ensure safe storage, functionality and accessibility of technical equipment Maintain an inventory of all sound & light equipment and materials stored and used Develop and maintain a theatre manual for using key equipment Health and Safety in general Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and ordinances at all times Regularly update and advise all users, including students, on the safe use of the theatre and event spaces and equipment Perform periodic maintenance, checks and controls, as instructed Required and Preferred Qualifications / Experience Team player Strong verbal and written communication skills in English;
