The Letter of Credit (L / C) Specialist, is in charge of all export and import L / C allocation to the banks and their verification, as well as the checking of our sale invoices and shipping documents.

The LC Specialist is in direct contact with our bankers our agents and our Trading, operation and Finance department.

Responsibilities

• Following the shipment period as per our sale contracts
• Request the drafts and amendments of L / C to the agents / buyers
• Contacting our banks in order to allocate the transaction and obtain a confirmation approval with the pricing quotation
• Analyze the drafts of l / c (with the necessary advices of the freight department) and give feedback to agents / buyers
• Request the shipping instructions and downpayments to agents / buyers for sales against downpayments / cad
• Verification of the shipping documents established by the export documentation operations department
• Argument and defend our interest in case of discrepencies raised by the confirming / advising bank
• Follow-up of the downpayments from buyer and transmission of shipping instructions to the export documentation operations department
• Enter the l / c summary in our internal system

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of banking, international trade, and foreign exchange regulations.
