Pictet Asset Management (Pictet AM) manages the assets of some of the world's largest institutions, financial intermediaries, and their clients.
Within Pictet AM, our Total Return business is a leading European hedge Fund manager with a global presence and a wide range of strategies, ranging from directional to market neutral, as well as a multi-manager fund with a 19-year track record.
We are looking for a hedge fund analyst to work within our Total Return Equities team and help us continue to build and strengthen our processes through deep analyses across a wide variety of subject matter, including capital allocation decisions, risk management, working directly with some of the investment teams to help enhance their investment processes and decision making, and the use of alternative data.
You will work in the Equity Total Return team and support the wider Total Return business with data management and insightful analyses.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic environment and be based in Geneva (preferred) or London.
Your role
- Providing the investmentmittees of our multi-manager funds with the transparency and insights needed to allocate capital to the various managers.
- Maintaining and further automating our data acquisition and processing infrastructure.
- Leading research aimed at improving the risk-adjusted performance of the multi-manager funds focusing on portfolio construction and tail-risk management;
assessing, for this purpose, the usefulness of various data sources (macro data, hedge fund positioning and flows, crowding indicators, fundamental factor performance, alternative data, etc.
and severalmercial risk models.
- Being willing to develop an in-depth understanding of many hedge fund strategies across asset classes, studying their diversification potential and helping with the quantitative assessment of candidate strategies.
- Working closely with our hedge fund managers to develop processes and tools aimed at enhancing risk awareness and improving investment decision-making with the help of statistical and various types models.
- Collaborating with other quantitative analysts and data scientists at Pictet AM to identify useful patterns and signals from alternative data sources to enhance our investment processes.
- Building strong relationships with the Investment Risk, Investment Technology, and Reporting teams to enhance performance attribution, stress testing and the automation of reporting tasks.
Your profile
- 3-5 years experience at a multi-manager hedge fund or possessing a strong and in-depth understanding of various hedge fund strategies (fundamental, systematic, macro, and / or event driven).
- Quantitative background (university degree inputer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, or quantitative finance).
- Expert level in Python and the standard data science packages (, pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, SciPy, etc.) andfortable with relational database programming (SQL).
- Previous experience with Snowflake, AWS, data visualisation tools and languages (Tableau), and machine learning would be a plus.
- Familiarity with fundamental factor risk models (Axioma, Bloomberg MAC2 & MAC3, Barra) would be a plus.
- Strongmunication skills : ability tomunicate results to a non-technical audience.
- Goodmand of English; French would be a plus.
