The EHS Specialist will provide EHS support to different functions and departments at the Janssen Vaccines Bern R&D site by driving the EHS programs in an agile and innovative lab and GMP production environment, ensuring continuous improvement of the environmental health and safety programs.Key Responsibilities :
Support EHS team with implementation, management and monitoring of EHS programs, policies, and proceduresMaintaining and continuously improve the site's EHS management systemSupport and advise supervisors and employees on EHS issues (including e.
g. occupational safety, contractor management, industrial hygiene, emergency organization, machine safety, chemical safety and environmental sustainability)Training, mentoring and coaching of supervisors & employees to continuously improve EHS performance and raise EHS cultureProviding advice and support to employees and management on Swiss EHS legal requirements and J&J EHS guidelines and standards incl.
impact of relevant changes on the businessMaintain site EHS legal register, permits, records and EHS CAPA databaseEvaluation of the organization's processes, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections, hazard analyses and risk assessments to identify unsafe actions / conditions and to implement safeguards and risk mitigation measuresDrive EHS site communication via different channelsQualifications
Education : Bachelor or Master of Science degree or equivalentAppropriate Swiss EHS qualification as Safety Engineer or Safety professional (SUVA / EKAS / Industry recognized EHS qualifications at EHS practitioner level)Experience and Skills :
Required : 4-8 years of work experience in the EHS field, preferably in chemical or pharmaceutical industryKnowledge of relevant EHS legislative requirementsExperience in planning, implementing and managing EHS projects with adherence to budget and scheduleProactive, reliable and communicative EHS professionalPreferred :
Experience in working with / deployment of management systems such as ISO 14001 / 45001External / internal EHS auditing experienceOther :
