CMC Exploitation SAAigle, CHThe UCI World Cycling Centre (CMC) in Aigle is an outstanding multi-sport facility. It is used by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) as a training centre and features a 200m Velodrome, a BMX Racing Track, a Pumptrack and a BMX Freestyle Park. Inaugurated in 2002, it welcomes many athletes from around the world who devote all their energy to their sports career. The WCC trains and develops about 100 athletes a year in five Olympic disciplines (Road, Track, MTB, BMX Racing and BMX Freestyle).
The UCI World Cycling Centre is recruiting a :
Performance Manager (100%) English / French
Mission :
With a focus on assisting emerging cycling nations, the UCI World Cycling Centre's (UCI WCC) mission is to train, educate and detect athletes across all Olympic and Paralympic cycling disciplines.
Its aim is to support each Confederation and their respective National Cycling Federations (NF) with their development needs, whilst creating opportunities to train at the WCC for higher level athletes who do not have access to sufficient coaching, infrastructure, and competition opportunity within their NF.
The Performance Manager at the UCI WCC leads the strategic and operational planning of sport development programmes, working closely with coaches and leadership to foster a high-performance culture centered on athlete development. The role involves managing programme logistics and budgets, supporting coach and staff development, overseeing athlete performance planning, and maintaining strong partnerships with internal departments and external stakeholders. Additionally, the Performance Manager ensures best practices in athlete welfare, contributes to talent identification, and integrates evidence-based approaches to enhance programme effectiveness.
Key responsibilities :
- Define and monitor the short- and long-term objectives of the Performance Development Department in alignment with the UCI WCC's strategy.
- Oversee the logistical and financial planning of athlete development programmes.
- Promote and maintain a sustainable high-performance culture focused on athlete development and welfare.
- Support and guide coaches and performance staff, fostering excellence and collaboration.
- Ensure effective implementation and regular review of Individual Performance Plans.
- Identify and secure external funding to support athlete, coach, and programme development.
- Develop and refine athlete development pathways, including those at UCI Regional and Continental Development Satellites.
- Collaborate with the Education Department to integrate certified coaches and coaching interns into UCI WCC programmes.
- Ensure that all programmes adhere to best practices in athlete welfare, safeguarding, and risk management.
- Implement data-driven systems to track and analyze athlete performance, supporting continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with national federations, regional development centres, and key stakeholders.
- Stay current with global trends in high-performance sport and integrate evidence-based practices into UCI WCC operations.
