Senior Event Controller
The Position
We are dedicated to the beautiful game and its development in every corner of the world and in all of its aspects.
We are now looking for a Senior Event Controller that is part of FIFA and supports us on our mission.
These are your key tasks : The Event Controlling Department is a Finance Division's Department directly in charge of the Financial Planning and Controlling for all Tournaments and Events within FIFA (including but not limited to World Cups, Women World Cups, Clubs Competitions, Youth Tournaments, Corporate Events).
Due to an internal transfer we are looking for a seasoned Event Controller who's tasks will be :
- Acting as the Business Partner of the FIFA Project Leaders of specific tournaments and events,
- Within a specific tournament or an event, supporting and controlling all Functional Areas involved in its effective delivery,
- Supporting all FIFA divisions, Local FIFA Subsidiaries and the Local Organising Committees involved in tournaments in the establishment of their budget and forecasts,
- Being the first point of contact for the Local Organising Committee or the Local FIFA Subsidiary for all budget matters,
- Participating in the review of the budget assumptions on a yearly, quarterly and ad hoc basis,
- Ensuring that all FIFA Finance requirements (in relation with processes, timelines and budget structures) are met,
- Checking the proper booking of invoices of the FIFA expenditures related to tournaments and events,
- Preparing and maintaining financial reporting for budget owners, project leaders and management on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis,
- Analysing the actual costs of the tournaments and events against the budgets of the FIFA divisions and the FIFA subsidiaries,
- Performing ad hoc analyses and other tasks as requested by the Head of Event Controlling or FIFA senior management.

The specific competencies we require for this position are :
- Willingness to travel several weeks to Tournaments and Events if necessary,
- Strong identification with FIFA's philosophy,
- Experience in procurement and budgeting processes favourable,
- Minimum five years of experience in financial function (ideally controlling),
- Confirmed experience in an event organization in a financial role (organizing major sport events or other similar projects),
- Ability to work independently,
- Proper communication and reporting to line manager,
- Proactivity & efficiency,
- Very good analytical and reporting skills,
- Strong oral and written communication skills (including development of Powerpoint presentations),
- Reliable team-player,
- Patience and openness to last minute change,
- University degree or equivalent business education,
- Fluent in English,
- Proficiency in any other FIFA language (French / Spanish / German) is an asset,
- Very good MS Office skills (including MS Powerpoint) with expertise in MS Excel,
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
