Medtronic is hiring an Aortic & Peripheral Vascular Health Sales Manager responsible for driving execution for the Operating Units in Austria and Switzerland, transforming the sales and marketing organization to align the business with the European / DACH goals and objectives, as well as establishing a high performing team that will position the business as a bigger player in the market.
In the role, you will be reporting directly to the Regional Senior Business Manager of Germany and Alpine for Aortic, with a dotted line to the Director of Germany, Alpine, Greece and Israel for Peripheral Vascular Health (PVH).
You will lead a team of Sales Representatives and Marketing, collaborate with the enterprise account organization in the cluster, and work closely with Medtronic support functions in the countries.
A Day in the Life
- Establish annually, quarterly and monthly Sales and Marketing objectives in coordination with the company’s business plan and create, in partnership with the Aortic DACH Sr Manager and the PVH Director, an annual business plan to meet these objectives
- Lead the sales forecasting process, including market model, as well as purchasing group negotiations
- Track the sales organization progress in achieving sales and business objectives target on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, manage development and implementation of corrective actions necessary to clinch sales objectives
- Build long term productive and mutually beneficial relationships with clinical key opinion leaders and non-clinical key stakeholders, not excluding society representatives, by effectively engaging and coordinating with sales leadership and marketing, in order to establish a coordinated customer approach throughout consistent communication
- Lead the transformation of the organization to build a team that is aligned to our global vision of being a bigger player in the market
- Build a high performing and highly engaged team by fostering leadership and employee involvement, eventually enhancing teamwork and accountability throughout hiring and development of direct reports, performance management techniques, including mentoring, rewards and recognition when appropriate, and discipline when necessary
- Continuously work to gain proficiency pertaining to the industry, the market, and the company’s evolving customer value offering
- Champion and own all change initiatives by being a role model and mobilize both teams, and other stakeholders to align with our vision and commit to a strategic, cultural change in so doing
Must Haves
- 3-5 years of professional experience in a business function, such as sales, marketing, business or market development within the Healthcare, Medical Devices, Pharma industry, in a large corporate environment, with a significant matrix culture, in a mature European market.
- Business Administration or Biomedical Engineering (scientific or engineering) post-graduate degree.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience, ideally with heterogenous sales and marketing teams.
- Analytical mindset, strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, high resistance to stress, very structured way of working.
- Experience in managing fast paced growth environment as well a mature business segment.
- Fluency in German, English, French (fluent).
- Up to 70% travel requested.

- Fluency in another European language.
- Working knowledge of company products and services.
- Excellent in anticipation and planning, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and agility to change.
- Experience in following strict procedures and compliance rules.
