The annual salary range for this role is $130,000-$150,000 in New York.

With the aim of fostering public-private cooperation on sustainable finance and investing, technology-enabled innovation in financial services, and financial resilience for institutions and individuals, the Lead, Policy and Regional Engagement will be responsible for strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones with critical governmental bodies (e.

g. Central Banks, Ministries of Finance, Regulators, etc), international organizations (e.g. IMF, World Bank Group, Bank for International Settlements, Financial Stability Board), and international fora (e.

g. G7 / G20) anchored on of the Centre.

Reporting to Centre leadership, the Lead will curate and deliver a mission-aligned, multistakeholder portfolio of engagement opportunities geared toward policymakers on a global and regional scale.

The regional orientation of the role will focus initially on Latin America, with an emphasis on Brazil, and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and will evolve overtime in unison with Centre strategy.

This person will also build and maintain productive relationships with Program Leads and Heads internally within the Centre and with other relevant colleagues and teams across the Forum.

Establishing productive relationships externally at senior levels and across the institution will be of utmost importance for succeeding in this role.

Breakdown of main responsibilities

The Lead will drive the uptake of the Centres initiatives in targeted international processes and regions / countries, mobilize policy makers and other stakeholders to drive global and local impact.

Moreover he / she will be responsible for driving a cohesive design and effective implementation of Centre’s strategies, activities and workplans in select priority regions and countries. In particular :

Serve as the Centre Lead for key International Processes and events to drive strategic Centre engagement, participation, visibility and influence in these processes leveraging Centre initiatives.

This includes but is not limited to COP, G20, IMF / WBG Annual Meetings, etc.

  • Drive the Centre’s visibility and impact (together with Programming and Communications Lead) and narrative in key international policy fora.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of senior policy makers directly and through regional teams that lead to higher engagement of policy makers in our initiatives and events and strategic policy maker relationships for the Centre to draw upon.
  • Keep abreast of and analyse the implications of key global and regional-level policy changes. Identify related opportunities to inform policy at global or national level in priority countries and areas connected to Centre work and work with Centre initiatives to inform about and pursue new opportunities.
  • Manage regional coordination for Centre to ensure a targeted, consistent and strategic implementation of activities and workplans in priority regions and countries to achieve impact and engagement of relevant partner organizations and policy makers.
  • Lead Centre regional coordination globally, with immediate emphasis on Latin America, and GCC, serving as the key interface between the Centre and regional business and government teams to build and facilitate implementation of an impactful Centre agenda, aligned with regional needs.
  • Coordinate a group of government relations colleagues (no formal reporting line) for other priority regions within the Centre to guide them and ensure there is a structured approach to achieve impact and strong connection between opportunities in the regions and Centre activities.
  • Responsible for overseeing Centre events in key countries outside of Forum main meetings to ensure a consistent and impactful approach - working with regional leads and Centre Communications and Events Lead
  • Contribute to leading the strategic growth as well as the expansion of the Centre’s policy and regional relevance and related impact.

This can also include expanding relevant resourcing such as fellows (secondees), professional service firm support etc for the activities under the person’s areas of responsibility.

Preferred requirements and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, finance, business or similar fields with a focus on financial services, Master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in private or public sector, with a substantial part working on the intersection of public policy and financial services
  • Knowledge of and direct experience engaging in international policy processes focused on financial and monetary systems
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills, including the ability to forge strategic relationships and collaborate with internal (Forum) and external parties
  • Experience in crafting public policy on financial and monetary system related topics
  • Proven record of relevant thought leadership on regulatory matters or related topics, including published articles, presentations in international forums, and conference participations
  • Ability to quickly develop and effectively communicate clear perspectives on strategic issues combined with excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English; other languages are an asset

Vaccination requirement
