IT Security Architect (m/w/d)

Job Overview : We are seeking experienced IT Security Architects to join our client’s IT team in Zurich. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security architecture to safeguard information systems and data.
This role requires a deep understanding of security principles, technologies, and best practices, as well as the ability to stay ahead of evolving threats.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement security architectures and frameworks to protect information assets and IT infrastructure.
- Evaluate, design, and implement security solutions to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to integrate security requirements into system design and development.
- Define security policies, standards, and guidelines to govern the organization’s security practices.
- Oversee the implementation and management of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and encryption solutions.
- Monitor and analyse security alerts and incidents to ensure timely response and resolution.
- Provide expert guidance and support to IT teams on security-related issues and projects.
- Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and recommend enhancements to improve security posture.
- Conduct security training and awareness programs for employees to foster a security-conscious culture.
- Participate in incident response planning and execution, including post-incident analysis and reporting.
Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as an IT Security Architect or in a similar role.
- Deep understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies.
- Hands-on experience with security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
- Proficiency in security technologies such as SIEM, IDS / IPS, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
- Familiarity with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cryptography, and identity management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
