The Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains (AMSC) is one of the 10 Centres at the Forum, focused on enabling a more resilient, sustainable and inclusive manufacturing ecosystems and supply chains to usher in a new wave of global economic and social prosperity.

Our centre supports sustainable growth by leveraging technology and innovation, getting industry to net-zero, facilitating the development of manufacturing workforces and developing insights into the future of industrial strategies and supply chains.

Why We are Recruiting

Emerging technologies, including Generative AI, blockchain and synthetic biology, are evolving at an unprecedented pace and stand to have a growing impact on society, enterprises, and the global economy.

While certain benefits of technology deployment already are evident across industries, a comprehensive scenario of technology trends, interactions, evolution and a realistic evaluation of the transformative impact of future technology adoption in operations is yet to be defined.

We are seeking a dynamic Initiatives Lead to shape and champion the latest AMSC's initiatives in the Technology and Innovation portfolio, .

Collaborating with Forum Partners and other teams, the role entails working on outlining possible technology evolution scenarios and related challenges, opportunities and expected impact for manufacturing and supply chain operations across industries.

The work will focus on both emerging and frontier technologies like AI, blockchain, biotechnologies, quantum, etc.

This work includes building and engaging a multistakeholder community of experts, driving thought leadership as well as overall project management for key deliverables with external and internal partners and ensure cross collaboration with other Forum teams working on solutions and impact of AI and future technologies, in particular, the successful candidate will collaborate with the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) and its AI Governance Alliance.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

Reporting to the Lead of Technology & Innovation, based in Geneva, the Initiatives Lead will be a pivotal force in extracting value from digital information and insights.

Breakdown of Responsibilities

Establish and deliver significant institutional flagship activities across the engagement community and initiative

Build, manage and animate a multistakeholder community by onboarding the right stakeholders, leading working group meetings and communicating updates regularly and ultimately strengthen the diversity and penetration against the system stakeholder map

Engage with leading experts from academia, industry and regulators to drive exploratory discussions and generate insights on future technology scenarios and impact on industrial operations.

Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key organizations, governments, and industry leaders to advance the goals of AMSC.

Strengthen the Forum’s position as the trusted platform for systems leadership through the various community engagements

Demonstrate thought leadership on emerging issues, frontier technology and ecosystems across all initiatives in the Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chain Center

Stay abreast of the latest developments in Digital Transformation, Industrial Transformation and related fields, providing thought leadership within the organization and externally

Support and ensure alignment with the work of other Initiatives within the AMSC Centre and the C4IR on AI and other digital technologies agendas

Lead the development of industry-actionable initiatives, frameworks and industry insights to help animate community dialogues with senior executives

Work with Forum partner organizations to onboard new fellows to support with the work, and work closely with project fellows to drive the initiatives forward

Drive cross-functional collaboration within the Forum ecosystem to leverage resources and expertise for maximum impact

Secure, train and mentor partner fellows

Support with programming and design of specific events and work with Forum teams and external experts to capture relevant knowledge to use in programming

Requirements and Experience

Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience in working with digital technologies and industries and / or technologies policies

A master’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, or equivalent advanced manufacturing experience

Strong passion on the future of industry and society and demonstrated expertise on the impact of AI and other emerging technologies for manufacturing and supply chains operations

Proven capacity to manage strategic projects in collaborative and ambiguous environments, involving high-level leaders from government, business, civil society, academia

Demonstrated ability to work across different cultures and sectors

Ability to write informative and insightful content, with experience creating digital content, research papers, academic articles,
