Footwear Designer Running

We are seeking a curious and passionate Industrial Designer to join our Running footwear design team at the ON HQ in Zurich.

This role offers the amazing opportunity to be involved in the entire product creation process, from initial concept until signing-off the final product.

We offer a creative and inspiring work environment within the ON Design Studio, where you will be working alongside an international team of around 60+ designers.

Your Mission

• Collaborate with the RnD team to develop innovative running footwear concepts that align with ON's brand identity and performance standards.
• Conduct research and gather insights on market trends, materials, and technologies to inform your design decisions.
• Create detailed sketches, 2D & 3D renderings and physical mockups to communicate and validate your design ideas effectively.
• Work closely with the development, engineering and strategy teams to ensure your designs meet the performance and consumer needs.
• Contribute to the overall design team's creative process by bringing fresh and disruptive ideas and perspectives to your colleagues
• Maintain awareness of industry & design trends and competitor products to stay ahead in the market.
• Present design concepts and progress updates to internal stakeholders and management.

Your Story

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or related field.
• Proven experience in product design (3+ years), preferably in the running or sportswear industry.
• Strong sketching, rendering or 3D modeling skills (proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, Rhino, Modo, Zbrush or similar)
• Understanding of industrial manufacturing processes
• Hands-on approach in building physical mockups and proof-of-concept prototypes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment within a cross-functional product creation team.
• A passion for running and an understanding of runner's needs and preferences is definitively a plus.
