The Software Engineer position within the Product Development group will be responsible for designing and developing some of the most visible and exciting products on the internet.

This is a fast-paced environment leveraging industry leading technologies such as Java / Tomcat / PostgreSQL / Hazelcast / Docker / Fitness to build high performance scalable applications.

Verisign is looking for an experienced developer to join the ODIN Development team. ODIN is a critical central hub for account management, product catalog and authentication.

The candidate must be eager to learn as needed. In the candidate, we also expect a solid understanding of fundamentals including core Computer Science concepts, as well as hands-on problem-solving experience building, deploying and maintaining complex software systems.

Obtaining these competencies often requires an equivalent of a bachelor’s degree and several years of hands-on work experience.

The candidate will be involved in all aspects of product development including ideation, design, implementation, deployment, and issue resolution.

This will often imply cross-team collaboration with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Security and Operations.

Team

The team possesses extensive technical ownership over the product. The work style of the team is closer to an internal startup where all the team members are involved in the majority of product development phases and are flexible moving between focus areas.

The team follows Agile Development methodology relying on daily Scrums with tickets prioritized in Jira. Our code is located on internal GitHub;

we follow Git Flow with pull request code reviews. For continuous delivery we use Jenkins with pipelines and our product deployments are automated with Ansible and Terraform.

The product can be rolled out from zero to the operating state in a single button click. We do builds for each codebase change as well as nightly builds.

We have automated testing with substantial coverage.

It is clearly beneficial if the candidate has experience working with some of the mentioned tools.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• BS / MS in Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years Java coding experience in full stack production applications
• Must have SQL coding experience
• Must have experience working in a Unix / Linux environment
• Must have a proficient knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
• Test Automation Tools
• Great communication, problem-solving ability and teamwork skills
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Self-starter with self-initiative and direction
• Have experience in deployment automation and workflow automation
• Self-drive toward productivity improvements
• Able do architecture design for complex systems
