What You Will Do

Be part of the Product Management Team leading Altair EDEM into the future by supporting the successful implementation of python for all capabilities of the product, pre- & post-processing, customization and automation.

Performance Areas

Serve as a member of the worldwide EDEM Product team with the following responsibilities :

• Design and oversight of all Python capabilities for EDEM.
• Work with Technical Support Team, R&D Team, and customers to develop new ideas to solve complex business problems.
• Collaborate with other Altair Product Teams to establish requirements and build a timeline for future EDEM Python capabilities.
• Define specifications for new features to be added to the software.
• Oversee the feature development ensuring the output matches the specification.
• Generate suitable examples to demonstrate new functionality to promote the software and verify that capabilities meet the needs of EDEM users.

In addition to this the wider Product Management Team which has the following general responsibilities :

• Product Roadmap Management Ensuring that EDEM continues to develop to meet customer needs and aligns with the company strategy.
• Development and Testing Lead the development of enhancements to the product in collaboration with the EDEM Software Development team.
• Documentation Ensure that suitable documentation is generated to assist users in using the software.
• Support EDEM co-simulation connections Manage, maintain, and promote EDEM connections to other Sim and Data tools, like CFD, FEA, MBD and AI.
• Marketing, Sales, and Technical Team Support generate examples of how EDEM can solve engineering problems, perform performance benchmarks, and support other teams in using the software.

What You Will Need : Basics :

Basics :

• Senior education and university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other technical discipline
• Experience working with Python within an Engineering environment
• Knowledge of CAE / CFD / DEM tools

Preferred :

• Experience of automating simulation setup and post-processing using Python
• Knowledge of EDEM or Discrete Element Modelling (DEM)
• Experience with other programming languages (C++ or similar)
• 5+ years of experience
