Would you like to take your career to the next level? You will be able to bring your outstanding talents to Enterprise Networking, the engineering team at Cisco Meraki, building software powering networking platforms for applications such as routing, switching, wireless, cable access and Internet of Things.

As an early in career Software Engineer with primary focus on embedded systems in our Ecublens office in Switzerland, you will develop and maintain wireless products and industry-leading software platforms with aim toward all devices, machines, and vehicles becoming connected and integrated with traditional enterprise networks. You will have the opportunity to build high performance, highly scalable, multi-cloud environments and distributed systems, end to end, and participate in the full software development lifecycle for large systems at scale.

Responsibilities :

  • Design and develop new features for our Wireless products
  • Writing specifications, coding, unit testing and integration of the code across multiple platforms.
  • Test simulated and real hardware in customer and scaled scenarios.
  • Contribute to unit automation, integration, feature, and system level testing.
  • Support and maintain quality of the software, help customers to debug issues and fix defects.
  • Plan, design, operate and improve continuous integration and automated testing systems; write, deliver, and maintain tests for the toolset.

Ideal Candidate :

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Early in career experience in student level positions or internships.
  • Good understanding of embedded software.
  • Interest in networking, wireless and IoT.
  • Thriving in a highly collaborative, inclusive, and agile atmosphere in partnership with multi-functional teams.
  • Keen to learn, grow, and evolve.
  • Essential Skills :

  • Writing software in C and C++.
  • Networking experience including TCP / IP, L2 and L3 protocols.
  • Cloud and container technologies such as Docker.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in testing, troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
  • Bonus Skills :

  • Knowledge of Python, Java and Kotlin.
  • Experience with real-time O / S and with Unix / Linux development tools.
  • Understanding of Wireless Networking Technologies and 802.11.
  • Experience with scripting and unit, integration test tools and dashboards a plus.
  • Dedication to customer success is key to this role.

    U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO.     Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
