Power Electronics Engineer - F/M/X
Job description
We are currently seeking a talented Junior / Senior R&D Power Electronics Engineer to collaborate with a Medium Voltage Drives R&D team.
This team is responsible for the design and development of Medium Voltage Power Electronics Frequency Converters, which are crucial for various industries such as marine, wind, water, oil and gas, food, metals, and mining.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Power Electronics, particularly in Medium Voltage (MV) applications, and will play a key role in the design, specification, testing, and qualification of the main components.
Responsibilities :
Design and Development : You will lead the system design, specification, testing, and qualification of the main components and sub-systems for a new family of MV frequency converters.
This includes all phases from conceptual design using simulation tools to final validation in the R&D labs.
- Component Qualification : You will focus on the qualification of MV components, ensuring their reliability and performance under various operating conditions.
- Supplier Interaction : You will collaborate closely with key suppliers to ensure component quality and integration into the overall system.
- Technical Expertise : You will contribute to the maintenance and further development of key Power Electronics technologies and know-how within the MV Drives R&D team.
- Innovation : You will identify and implement innovative solutions that enhance product development projects.
Your Profile :
- Educational Background : You hold a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics, particularly in High Power and Medium Voltage applications.
- Experience : You have solid experience in Power Electronics System Design and Development, with practical expertise in High Power and Medium Voltage converters being a significant advantage.
- Technical Proficiency : You possess sound knowledge in modeling, simulation, and system design analysis using state-of-the-art simulation and engineering design tools.
- Lab Experience : You have a strong interest and focus on practical experimentation, testing, and validation in an MV lab environment, with experience in MV component qualification being highly desirable.
- Research Orientation : You are self-motivated, enjoy applied research and development, and are capable of working autonomously within a highly skilled R&D team.
- Communication Skills : You have a solution-focused approach and strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Fluency in German is a plus.
