About Our Client

For our client, an internationally active company in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector based in Basel, we are looking for a Translational Data Scientist (m/f/d). Our client is known for its strong position in biomedical research and advances translational science through data-driven innovation.

Your Responsibilities

• Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to translate biological insights into decisions across drug discovery and early-stage development
• Build and apply pre-clinical models derived from internal and public data for departmental research projects
• Model multi-modal clinical data using established and emerging approaches to uncover biomarkers of disease progression and treatment response, and shape new therapeutic target hypotheses
• Partner with a core team of translational research and data science experts across wet-lab and dry-lab practices
• Contribute to projects with external partners at renowned healthcare institutions, including opportunities to publish

Your Profile

• Experience in the life sciences industry modeling biomedical research data
• Proven application of statistics and data modeling to large-scale life-sciences datasets
• Hands-on experience integrating multi-omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) to answer key scientific questions
• Responsible, hands-on handling of clinical data in an industry setting
• Applied experience with AI, machine learning, large language models and agentic workflows for analysis and decision-making
• Proficiency in R/Python and confidence in a Linux environment
• Nice to have: experience working with or fine-tuning foundation models, e.g. in biology, chemistry or clinical data
