As part of a planned succession, we are seeking a new Head of Institute. /p pProfessor Head of the Winterthur Institute of Health Economics (WIG) 80-100 % /p h3School: /h3 pSchool of Management and Law /p h3Starting date: /h3 p1 November 2027 or by agreement; Application deadline: 30 November 2026; first interviews will take place in December 2026 and January 2027 /p h3Your role /h3 ul liLeading further development of the institute with over 30 highly motivated faculty and staff /li liManaging the institute together with the heads of the four research centers: Centers for Health Economic Research, HTA and Health Economic Evaluation, Health Care Management, Health Services Research; and the Center for Education Services /li liTogether with senior team members responsible for generating third party funding through research and executive education (external funding ratio approximately 80 percent) /li liContributing to teaching and research in one of the topical areas of the institute as a full professor /li /ul h3Your profile /h3 ul liHealth economist with a PhD in Economics, Health Economics, or a closely related Social/Health Science discipline with a strong publication history in leading peer-reviewed journals /li liEntrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive strategic development and identify new research opportunities (thinking out of the box) /li liStrong, proven leadership capabilities with exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills /li liStrong and proven track record in acquiring substantial third-party funding and competitive research grants /li liExperience in developing and positioning executive education programs /li liEstablished, active, and influential professional network across national and international healthcare and academic sectors /li liDeep, nuanced understanding of the Swiss healthcare system, its regulatory framework, and current policy challenges /li liExtensive experience directing and performing policy-relevant, applied health economic research /li liDemonstrated ability to teach and mentor across diverse audiences and academic levels (fluent in German and English) /li /ul h3This is what we stand for /h3 pZurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW is one of Switzerland's largest multidisciplinary universities of applied sciences, with over 14'000 students and 3'400 faculty and staff. /p pThe Winterthur Institute of Health Economics (Winterthurer Institut für Gesundheitsökonomie, WIG) is a leading center for applied health economic research and teaching in Switzerland.
