Reporting to senior IT leadership, the IT Test Governance Leader will be responsible for establishing and evolving the organisation's quality governance model across a complex international environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and communicating a long-term vision for quality assurance and testing governance across the organisation.
- Building alignment among senior stakeholders, including VPs, product leaders and executive management.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to technology leadership on quality-related risks, priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Driving the adoption of testing standards, governance processes and enterprise-wide quality practices.
- Leading governance forums and influencing decision-making at senior management level.
- Establishing meaningful quality metrics and ensuring consistent reporting across teams.
- Supporting the continuous evolution of testing methodologies, tooling and best practices.
- Creating greater consistency across teams operating in different regions, delivery models and technology domains.
- Supporting onboarding, adoption and change-management initiatives related to quality governance.
- Coaching and mentoring Test Managers, QA Leads and governance contributors across the organisation.
- Providing direction on quality strategy while maintaining sufficient technical credibility to challenge, guide and support testing teams.
- Working closely with key stakeholders during the first phase of the role to consolidate existing governance practices, strengthen relationships and define the next stage of the testing maturity roadmap.
- 15+ years of experience within software testing, quality assurance or quality governance environments.
- Significant experience influencing senior stakeholders within large and complex technology organisations.
- Proven ability to operate at executive level and effectively engage with Managers, Directors and CIO-level stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change through influence rather than formal authority.
- Deep understanding of testing strategies, quality frameworks, governance models and testing best practices.
- Previous hands-on experience in testing or quality assurance roles, providing strong practical credibility with technical teams.
- Good understanding of modern testing technologies, automation approaches and software delivery practices.
- Experience building standards, governance frameworks and quality operating models across multiple teams and locations.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated success working in multicultural and geographically distributed environments.
- Ability to federate teams, overcome resistance and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic and delivery-oriented approach.
- Experience with ITIL, governance frameworks or enterprise operating models would be considered an advantage.
